Position Overview

As a CVOR Certified Surgical Technologist, you will serve as an essential allied health professional working under the direct supervision of cardiovascular surgeons. You will be responsible for facilitating safe and effective invasive surgical procedures by maintaining sterile operating room environments, ensuring all equipment functions properly, and maximizing patient safety throughout each procedure. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile operating room environment for cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Anticipate surgeon's needs and provide appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures
• Apply expert knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique throughout all surgical cases
• Ensure all surgical equipment functions properly and troubleshoot technical issues as needed
• Assist surgeons during invasive cardiovascular therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
• Maintain accurate counts of surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies
• Prepare and handle specimens according to established protocols
• Collaborate with perioperative team members to optimize patient safety and surgical outcomes
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements
• Demonstrate proficiency in complex cardiovascular surgical procedures and specialized instrumentation

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in cardiovascular operating room settings
• State Board certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required by start date
• Current BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) from American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider level required
• Demonstrated expertise in cardiovascular surgical procedures and sterile technique
• Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and cardiovascular surgical instrumentation
• Ability to assess patient data and interpret information appropriate to diverse age groups across the lifespan
• Proven ability to perform complex technical tasks with precision and efficiency
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure surgical environments
• Reliable phone communication access for hospital contact
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning
