We are looking for a Small Business Advisory Bookkeeper/Payroll/tax staff member to join our team! You will be responsible for either part or all of a client's preparing and analyzing financial records, payroll and general advice for our clients. This role is not a remote position. We do have remote working options for emergencies and occasional use, but would prefer staff to be in the office as we see clients and some payroll checks have to be printed and clients do stop by to meet. This role would mainly be bookkeeping and payroll, but tax preparation assistance in addition to regular work would be needed during tax season between 2/15 and 4/15 and potentially at a few other times throughout the year.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements
• Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
• Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
• Report analysis and findings to management team
• Prepare payroll on a regular basis using QuickBooks and a third party software system. Sometimes this includes garnishments, retirement plan contribution and bonuses. Restaurant payroll is a plus.
• Prepare and file sales/meals tax
• Prepare 1099 and keep track of W9 forms during the year when working with books
• Communicate results and expectations clearly to clients and team members
• Assume responsibility for due dates and budgeting work for your assigned clients
• Knowledge of individual and business taxes is a plus

​ Qualifications:

• Previous experience in accounting or other related fields
• Solid experience with desktop and online QuickBooks is required and preferably other types of accounting software is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft programs is required
• Detail and deadline-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
