Operations Manager

As an Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in coordinating engineering requirements, supervising staff, and working closely with a dedicated sales engineer to drive business growth and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Direct day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet production goals within budget, focusing on labor to sales ratio and cost efficiencies.
- Supervise a team of 25-50 employees, including performance evaluation, recruitment, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineers and senior leadership to troubleshoot complex process challenges and drive continuous improvement.
- Consult with customers on new applications and product improvements to enhance customer relations and business development.
- Lead employee training and ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental procedures.
- Support and maintain quality systems, including SPC, layered audits, and daily work procedures.
- Work closely with the executive team to maximize plant safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability.
- Coordinate engineering, maintenance, and support functions to ensure efficient production with minimal downtime.
- Develop long and short-term goals focused on continuous improvement of quality and profitability.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Management or Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably with metal finishing.
- Proven supervisory experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of electrochemistry, electric/electronic circuitry, materials processing, and metrology systems.
- Demonstrated ability to attract, motivate, and retain staff.
- Strong project management skills and ability to resolve complex issues using statistical tools.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; fluency in foreign languages is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CAD software preferred.
- Experience with anodizing, chrome plating, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma is preferred.
Job Location and Conditions
- Primarily office-based with some work in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Involves working with chemicals and both manual and automated equipment.
- Travel may be required to support regional and international customers and operations.
