Your Role: Structural Substation Engineer

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop substation site plans, grading, drainage, and foundation systems.
  • Perform structural analysis of foundations, anchorage systems, and steel connections.
  • Ensure designs are accurate, constructible, and aligned with industry codes and standards (AISC, ACI, ASCE 113, CBC, IEEE, NESC, etc.).
  • Review peer and subcontractor civil/structural work for quality and compliance.
  • Support construction teams with design-related issues, visiting client sites as needed.
  • Mentor and guide younger engineers, providing leadership and technical direction.
  • Prepare drawing packages, assist with proposals, and participate in project scheduling and bid reviews.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited)
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License (required)
  • Experience in civil/structural design (utilities or energy high preferred)
  • Proficiency with foundation and structural analysis/design software (e.g., Ipile, RISA)
  • Experience with site drainage, grading, and surface/sub-surface drainage plans
  • Strong understanding of civil/structural codes and standards
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams
