Electrical Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist with battery replacements and new installations for UPS systems.
• Support preventative and scheduled maintenance of battery systems with minimal disruption to customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site during all phases of work.
• Follow operational, maintenance, and emergency procedures to ensure safety and compliance.
• Work from schematic diagrams, sketches, and verbal instructions to complete tasks.
• Interact effectively with internal teams and external customers to ensure high-quality service.
• Assist with work in other service divisions, such as Switch Gear, Operations, and HVAC, as needed.
• Learn and apply techniques for disconnecting and connecting sealed batteries, building battery racks, and installing batteries in critical spaces.
• Collect and enter test readings and maintenance data using a laptop computer.
• Gain experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on DC battery systems with increasing independence.
• Assist in warehouse operations as required.
• Travel approximately 30% or more to customer sites as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Services Management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of or willingness to learn AC/DC theory, electronic components, and circuitry.
• Ability to use hand tools and general maintenance equipment safely.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• Completion of OSHA 10-hour certification and NFPA-70E Safety Training (or willingness to obtain).
• Understanding of proper use of isolation devices, Arc-Flash suit, and PPE.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work rules in critical facility environments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to travel as required (approximately 30% or more).
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
