Pharmacist Job Details

• Location: Fredericksburg, VA 22401 (Virginia pharmacy jobs)
• Facility: Short-Term Acute Care Hospital – Level II Trauma Center
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens pharmacist (Travel/Contract)
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/23/2025 – End: 12/23/2025)
• Shifts: Rotating 8-hour shifts (06:30–15:00, 07:00–15:30, or 14:30–23:00)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Required
• Charting System: Epic (required)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2220–$2280

Inpatient Pharmacist Qualifications

• Active Virginia pharmacist license (or compact license) in good standing
• B.S. Pharm. or Pharm.D. degree required
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient or acute care pharmacy experience (within the last 3 years)
• Strong clinical pharmacy skills in a hospital setting (retail-only experience within the last 3 years not accepted)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Pharmacy residency from an ASHP-accredited institution preferred
• Experience with Pyxis, Carousel System, and IV pharmacotherapy management preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently in a busy hospital pharmacy environment
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Pharmacist Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical care to neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients
• Prepare and dispense medications, including IV admixtures and high-risk medications
• Monitor and adjust therapeutic drug levels (antibiotics, anticoagulants, cardiac, renal, geriatric, pediatric, and psychotherapeutic medications)
• Utilize Epic for charting and medication management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled
• Ensure compliance with hospital pharmacy policies and regulatory standards
