We are currently hiring for a Buyer / Planner I in our Ashland location. This position will be responsible for supporting procurement and inventory management processes. This role involves purchasing materials and supplies, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring that inventory levels meet production and operational requirements

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Assist in purchasing materials, supplies, and services according to Company requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain adequate stock for production needs.
  • Enter purchase orders and communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, track shipments, and resolve delivery or quality issues.
  • Analyze and convert MRP messages into purchase and production orders; react to MRP signals related to pull-ins, pushouts, and cancellations.
  • Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness, ensuring proper authorization.
  • Support processes of maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to understand material needs and priorities and resolve procurement and scheduling related issues.
  • Assist with data entry and reporting for procurement and inventory management activities.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Training Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of procurement and inventory management principles, strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and strong computer skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite and ERP systems
