About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead day-to-day communication and project coordination for a high-impact Head Start initiative, ensuring the team stays aligned around shared goals and clear, actionable tasks. Serving as a primary point of contact for the OHS Communications Team, this role works closely with team members to ensure collaboration across a multidisciplinary project team. The Project Manager applies agile methodologies and strong project management practices to keep complex workstreams on track, support continuous improvement, and deliver high-quality outcomes. This role is central to maintaining effective client relationships and driving efficient, transparent operations.

This is a full-time position contingent on contract award by our client, with a defined performance period of one year with four one-year option periods. This role offers you a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a project that aligns with Bixal’s mission of delivering innovative, human-centered solutions. While the role has a fixed duration, we are committed to transparency and collaboration, keeping you informed about contract updates and new opportunities. Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $105,000 – $125,000. In the spirit of transparency, most offers tend to land near the midpoint of the range. We make compensation decisions thoughtfully, considering your experience, the skills you bring, and our commitment to internal equity. Fairness and transparency are core to how we operate.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily project management activities to ensure smooth communication, task alignment, and timely delivery of project work.
  • Serve as a direct point of contact with the OHS Communications Team, fostering transparent, proactive, and professional communication.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to set priorities, track progress, and align workstreams.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives, stand-ups) and support the implementation of agile practices across the team.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, and timelines using project management tools and methodologies.
  • Monitor project risks, dependencies, and progress, escalating issues when necessary and driving solutions to keep work on track.
  • Coordinate with external partners and stakeholders, building strong relationships grounded in respect, clarity, and diplomacy.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance team efficiency, communication flow, and delivery quality.
  • Produce clear project documentation—including reports, updates, and deliverable tracking—to support client visibility and decision-making.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned and qualified/trained to perform

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of relevant Project Management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or similar role).
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-faceted projects and deliver high-quality results on time.
  • Demonstrated ability to use project management software and tools to plan, track, and report work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, diplomatically, and effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical systems with 24/7 availability needs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
