Survey Director – Virginia
We are partnering with a well-established engineering and consulting firm seeking a Survey Director to oversee survey operations across Virginia. This leadership role is focused on team management, technical oversight, and strategic growth within a high-performing surveying practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage survey teams across the region, ensuring consistent, high-quality project delivery
- Support business development efforts and identify opportunities for growth
- Oversee project execution including scope, schedule, staffing, and budgets
- Collaborate with leadership to align services with client and market needs
- Implement best practices, quality control standards, and modern surveying technologies
- Mentor and develop staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Promote collaboration and efficient resource utilization across projects
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure overall satisfaction
Qualifications
- 15+ years of surveying experience, including leadership and project management
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Virginia required
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, GIS, Engineering, or related field
- Strong leadership experience managing teams and multiple projects
- Excellent communication, organizational, and client-facing skills
