Location: Chantilly, VA
Pay Rate: $19–21/hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite
Position Overview
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring products and manufacturing processes meet established quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. This role performs inspections, testing, and quality audits throughout the production lifecycle to identify defects, verify compliance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Inspector works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to maintain product integrity and drive corrective actions when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Testing
- Perform inspections on raw materials, components, subassemblies, and finished products
- Verify compliance with engineering specifications, tolerances, and performance requirements
- Utilize measuring tools and inspection equipment including calipers, gauges, and testing instruments
- Conduct detailed visual inspections to identify defects, cosmetic issues, or deviations
Documentation & Reporting
- Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation
- Document non-conformances and inspection findings
- Prepare reports outlining quality issues and recommended corrective actions
- Maintain records in accordance with company and regulatory standards
Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
- Identify and segregate non-conforming materials or products
- Support root cause investigations with cross-functional teams
- Assist with implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Verify completion and effectiveness of corrective measures
Process Improvement
- Evaluate existing quality control processes and recommend improvements
- Participate in continuous improvement and quality review meetings
- Support initiatives focused on reducing defects and improving efficiency
Compliance & Quality Standards
- Ensure adherence to company quality systems and industry standards (ISO 9001 preferred)
- Support internal and external audits as required
- Maintain knowledge of inspection methods and quality best practices
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Previous experience in a Quality Inspector or manufacturing quality role
- Familiarity with quality inspection methods and tools
- Experience working within Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and organizational abilities
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
