Job Title: Concrete Instructor

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Concrete professional to join our team as an Instructor at our vocational academy. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned expert, perhaps nearing retirement, who is passionate about passing on their skills and shaping the next generation of concrete finishers and masons.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver hands-on instructional programs in modern concrete techniques, from formwork to finishing.

• Teach students the safe and efficient use of tools and equipment specific to the trade, including mixers, power trowels, and rebar tools.

• Instruct on the principles of concrete mixing, pouring, finishing, and curing for various applications.

• Provide one-on-one instruction and guidance to students with varying skill levels.

• Create lesson plans and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.

• Foster a safe, professional, and inclusive learning environment, with a strong emphasis on job site safety standards.

• Collaborate with other instructors and staff to continuously improve the program.

Qualifications:

• 10 years of professional experience in concrete work is ideal.

• Strong background in residential and/or commercial concrete applications.

• Demonstrated expertise in forming, pouring, and finishing cement slabs and columns.

• Proficiency in rebar reinforcement, including tying rebar and understanding placement requirements.

• Extensive knowledge of concrete mixes, tools, and finishing techniques.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

• Patience and a strong desire to mentor and guide aspiring tradespeople.

• Prior teaching, training, or leadership experience is a plus but not required.
