Job Type: 6 month contract with possible extension

Compensation: $60.00 - $65.00 / Hourly / W2

About the Role:

A well-established technology services firm is seeking a Systems & Network Support Engineer to assist the Director of IT in managing a variety of client environments. This is a hands-on role for a versatile IT professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting and can handle everything from Tier 2 support tickets to building servers and configuring networks. The ideal candidate will have experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) and be comfortable acting as a “one-person IT team” for multiple clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Tier 2 support for desktops, laptops, and peripherals via ticketing, phone, and email
• Build and configure Windows Server environments , including building Active Directory from scratch
• Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Teams
• Manage Azure AD, Group Policies, and user permissions
• Troubleshoot network protocols (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP) and connectivity issues
• Assist with patch management, software deployments, and compliance tasks
• Collaborate with the Director of IT on infrastructure improvements and client projects

Top Skills:

• Windows Server Administration (including AD build experience)
• Microsoft 365 & Exchange Administration
• Network Troubleshooting (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP)
• Azure AD & Group Policy Management
• Exposure to security tools and vulnerability scans (nice to have)

Preferred Background:

• Previous experience in an MSP environment or similar multi-client support role
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across systems and networks
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
• Familiarity with Cisco firewalls and general security best practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years in a business computer environment
• Hands-on experience with Windows client/server OS and networking
• Ability to gain proficiency in cloud solutions (Azure, AWS)
• Network+ and Security+ certifications are a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
