Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in a dynamic machine shop environment. This role involves setting up and operating both manual and CNC machine tools, modifying G code, and writing simple CNC programs. The ideal candidate will ensure quality inspections and evaluate finished products, while maintaining safety standards and minimizing scrap rates.
Responsibilities
- Setup and operate manual machine tools.
- Setup and operate CNC machine tools.
- Modify G code and write simple CNC programs.
- Perform quality inspections in process and evaluate finished products.
- Understand limits of machining, including speeds, feeds, and work holding devices.
- Maintain equipment to prevent safety compromises.
- Maintain a low scrap/rejected part rate.
- Accurately track time on individual jobs.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years' experience as a CNC machinist in a machine shop or similar environment.
- Entry level candidates from manufacturing/machine operation experience will be considered at a lower pay rate.
- Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program.
- Above average mathematical skills.
- Experience using a variety of machine tools.
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools such as saws, grinders, and overhead cranes.
- Ability to use all manual inspection tools.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents and drawings.
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing when required.
- Ability to work with a team and effectively communicate relevant project information.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Professional training in technical drawings with GD&T dimensioning.
- Ability to setup and operate multiple machines in a work cell.
- Availability to move from first to second shift as needed.

Work Environment
Work in a machine shop/job shop setting, utilizing advanced tools and equipment. The role may require shift flexibility, including moving from first to second shift as needed. Safety gear is provided and must be used appropriately.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Winchester, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $35.00/hr.
