We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our integrated Mental Health team at HMP Five Wells . HMP Five Wells is a category C resettlement prison based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, housing around 1,687 patients. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and will be supported by a second Psychiatrist, who is also our national psychiatry lead.

Hours

This position can be offered as either full-time (5 days per week) or part-time (2 or 3 days per week). Working hours are based on 9 am-5 pm, Monday to Friday.

Salary

You will receive an annual salary up to 189,900 per annum FTE depending on experience.

How will we support you?

• You will be part of a team of 15+ experienced and supportive Consultant psychiatrists.
• You will be able to attend monthly Consultant's meetings and receive 1:1 clinical supervision.
• Enjoy a bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course.
• Work within a defined competency framework.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

• Provide excellent clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on the caseload onsite.
• Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead senior mental health clinicians on service developments, and provide clinical supervision.
• Work within the multidisciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in complex case reviews.

Qualifications required

• Registered professional with current GMC registration.
• Specialist Registration in General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry.
• Approved under section 12(2) of the MHS 1983.
• Understanding of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working complexities.
• Up-to-date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PD.
• Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy, and legislation.
