Our team provides best-in-class operational solutions with technical knowledge and subject matter experts of building systems, envelopes, campus, and client operations. **Position Description:** The General Maintenance Technician II leads and performs daily work orders, small capital projects, routine preventative maintenance, routine work, new installations, and cleanup. **Position Qualifications:** + High school diploma or equivalent GED. + Three (3+) years' experience general maintenance work and/or a combination of education and experience. + Valid Driver's License. + Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment. + The ability to read, understand and communicate, both verbally and written + Must be able to communicate effectively. + Basic computer skills such as internet, email, electronic manual, etc. + Must be able to take initiative. + Able to focus on attention to detail and follow instructions. _Preferred Qualifications:_ + OSHA 10 Certification or higher. + CPR & First Aid Certification. + Poses a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) Certification. **Essential Duties:** + Lead and perform mid-level HVAC and electrical mechanics in performing intermediate preventative maintenance (PM) tasks on equipment, examining for wear and tear, and making required repairs as needed. + Performs intermediate PM tasks on items such as roof drains, shop cleanup, and all other assigned areas. + Adheres to applicable safety rules. + Trains other General Maintenance Technician/Trade partners with intermediate activities such as painting and priming of interior and exterior walls, hanging, and finishing sheetrock, hanging white boards, installing fixtures, etc. + Remain current with industry standards, best practices, and new technology. **Physical Work Classification & Demands:** + Heavy Work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. + The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and field activity. + Walking - The person in this position needs to frequently move about the jobsite. + Sometimes operates a computer or tablet and other office machinery, such as a calculator and phone. + The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office and field administration. + Constantly reads written communications and views mail submissions. Will also need to read blueprints and take/verify field measurements. + Climbing - Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps at various heights. + Balancing - Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling and to walk, stand or crouch. + Stooping - Bending the body downward and forward by the spine at the waist. + Reaching - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction for various lengths of time. + Grasping - Needs to apply pressure to an object with fingers and palm regularly. + Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate. + Occasionally exposed to high and low temperatures. + Frequently exposed to noisy environment and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind. **Benefits:** Hensel Phelps provides generous benefits for our fulltime employees.
