Reston, VA (CONUS / OCONUS Support) | Hybrid / Remote Eligible Based on Mission RequirementsPosition SummaryGlobal C2 Integration Technologies (GC2IT) is seeking a Cloud Architect to support the design, implementation, and sustainment of secure hybrid cloud infrastructures supporting mission-critical operational environments.The Cloud Architect will lead cloud architecture activities supporting AWS and on-premises virtualized environments while developing scalable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) deployment patterns, secure networking architectures, and resilient operational capabilities.This role requires close coordination with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and networking teams to standardize cloud deployment practices and improve operational reliability.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement AWS and hybrid cloud reference architectures.Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and related technologies.Define deployment strategies for multi-account and multi-environment cloud architectures.Establish secure cloud governance, account structures, tagging policies, and cost management practices.Support VMware/vSphere-based virtualized environments.Develop resilient architectures supporting disaster recovery and continuity operations.Support CI/CD integration for infrastructure deployments.Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to implement secure-by-design cloud architectures.Produce logical and physical architecture diagrams and as-built documentation.Collaborate with application, network, and operations teams to standardize deployment processes.RequirementsBachelor 's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related field.Additional relevant experience may substitute for formal education requirements.Minimum 10 years of cloud architecture or infrastructure engineering experience.Strong AWS architecture and cloud engineering experience.Strong Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code experience.Experience supporting hybrid cloud and virtualized environments.Experience with secure networking, IAM, logging, and cloud governance.Ability to translate operational requirements into scalable cloud solutions.Active TS/SCI security clearance required.Valid passport or ability to obtain one.Ability to travel internationally as required.QualificationsAWS Solutions Architect certification preferred.Experience with Ansible, Packer, or GitOps workflows.Experience with VMware/vSphere operations.Experience implementing enterprise monitoring and observability solutions.Familiarity with cloud cost optimization and governance strategies.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
