Traveling Mechanical Commissioning Agent

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage commissioning projects for data center mechanical systems, including generators, CRAC units, rooftop AHUs, humidifiers, sprinkler systems, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, exhaust fans, and digital electrical distribution equipment.
• Review client design packages and project documentation to ensure compliance with specifications and best practices.
• Monitor and analyze Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Level 3 equipment tests, including First of Kind equipment.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive commissioning documentation, including test procedures, logs, checklists, and reports.
• Participate in daily commissioning meetings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including clients, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare and administer functional tests for various systems, such as electrical distribution, UPS, and standby generators.
• Assist with field troubleshooting and provide recommendations for optimizing building operations.
• Ensure adherence to quality management and quality control processes throughout all project phases.
• Travel to project sites as required (up to approximately 75%, with variation depending on project needs).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in engineering preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in the engineering field, with a focus on complex facilities or mission-critical projects.
• Previous experience in data center or mission-critical environments is required.
• Experience with electrical equipment testing in critical facilities is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with IEEE/ASHRAE procedures and protocols is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of systems design for large-scale projects.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively as needed for project assignments.
