Senior Tunnel Surveyor/ Tunnel Party Chief Surveyor (Heavy Civil Construction Project)

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services ( . We are currently looking for a S enior Tunnel Surveyor/ Tunnel Party Chief Surveyor to join our team for a construction project in Norfolk, Virginia .

-Project:   tunnel/ highway/bridge/structure

-Estimated duration of the position: 1 year - In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.

-Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all surveying activities related to slurry TBM excavation.
• Ensure the accuracy of survey data and its proper integration with the TBM guidance systems.
• Work closely with production, engineering, and quality control teams to ensure correct tunnel alignment and progress.
• Generate technical reports, review data, and manage as-built documentation.
• Lead and coordinate the survey team across shifts and liaise with subcontractors.

-Requirements:

• A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Land Surveyor on tunnelling projects, linear works, roads, structures, heavy civil construction or similar.
• Strong understanding of geodetic systems, GNSS, and total stations.
• Proficient in technical English (spoken and written).
• Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certifications in surveying or geospatial disciplines are a plus (e.g., PLS, RPLS, or equivalent).

-Working hours: Monday to Friday, 12 hours. There is the possibility of working some Saturdays.
