Job purpose

To oversee all functions of the warehouse while maintaining the guidelines and directives of the Warehouse Manager; promote and implement the company's core values in excellence and customer service; responsible for managing large team of warehouse workers reporting to this position; responsible for maintaining strong relationships with internal customers.

Duties and responsibilities

Maintain Transportation management and warehouse management best practices

Responsible for Daily and Weekly reports

Provides leadership to facilitate excellence in Customer Service execution.

Provides multi-site leadership and management to warehouse facilities.

Responsible for overseeing product inventory control, tracking, shipping, and receiving.

Maintains warehouse in accordance with all internal and external regulatory guidelines (i.e. OSHA, Fire Safety Standards, etc.).

Responsible for the Forklift Certification training program and compliance.

Manage the supervision of the daily activities of the warehouse to ensure orders are shipped correctly and on-schedule.

Leads and directs job assignments and daily warehouse work schedules through clear and concise Supervisor Meetings.

Supervise the maintenance of computerized warehouse management system (WMS).

Supervise, evaluate, and overall management of employees assigned to warehouse.

Contribute significantly to the Warehouse Manager in the employee performance review process.

Responsible for notifying the Warehouse Manager of any attendance or discipline concerns.

Correct unsafe conditions or behaviors in work areas and report to Warehouse Manager.

Communicate with other supervisors and managers to ensure a consistent team environment is maintained.

May move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment; including forklift, pallet jack, and handcart.

Supports maintaining a safe working environment and focuses on safe work habits.

Maintains a focus for self and team on continuous learning that will enhance skill sets and growth opportunities.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Ability to operate hand tools, forklift, pallet jack, and handcart

Impeccable time-management, organizational and attention to detail skills

Ability to operate warehouse inventory system and internet navigation

Qualifications

Associates Degree in related field strongly preferred

5-7 years of warehouse management field experience, strongly preferred

Knowledge of warehouse management systems, inventory control, and workforce scheduling

Ability to qualify and train forklift operators for certifications

Knowledge of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety standards Must have a strong background in product handling and logistics

Strong verbal and written communications required

Physical requirements

Sitting, Standing Walking

Heavy lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling)

Exposure to varied temperatures within the warehouse environment

Work inside and outside; work around machinery with moving parts and vehicles

Carrying, pushing, pulling boxes and items; up to 75-100 lbs, at times.

The successful candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
