Software Engineer

Job Title: Software EngineerJob Description We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to support the development of a satellite-based augmentation system (GNSS). The ideal candidate will lead the design and implementation of software for signals and data processing systems. This role requires a strong foundation in code design, implementation, testing, analysis, and debugging, particularly in client-server architectures and networking techniques. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python is essential, while experience with Object-Oriented Design and Linux operating systems is highly desirable. Responsibilities + Design, implement, test, and deploy data processing system software. + Develop interfaces to control, status, and monitor systems. + Manage system software configurations and baselines. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. + Five or more years of software engineering experience. + Proficiency in LINUX and C/C++. + Experience with networking protocols, object-oriented programming, MATLAB, Simulink, and signal processing. + Familiarity with GPS and communication systems. + Competency in using Eclipse IDE and Vectorcast. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. + Experience in GNSS (GPS, Galileo). + Development experience in database management systems (flat-file, relational, and object-oriented). + Experience in communications systems development and testing. + Knowledge of communications systems theory, with strengths in analog/digital modulation/demodulation. + Understanding of signal processing algorithms and techniques. + Familiarity with safety-critical software development techniques (DO-278A). + Experience with COTS tools such as Eclipse Desktop C++ IDE, Intel C++ Compiler, Vectorcast Unit Test Framework, Vectorcast QA, and Synopsys Coverity. Work Environment This position is located onsite in Fairfax. The work environment boasts excellent benefits, including a 401k with a 25% contribution and eight weeks of paid time off.
