Make a meaningful impact working with elementary-aged students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. Based near Colonial Beach, VA, this contract position provides the opportunity to work full-time with students in grades K-5, supporting their individual learning needs in a positive, inclusive environment.

Your role will include fostering academic and social growth, creating individualized education programs, and partnering with families, general education teachers, and support staff. Empower young learners and help shape the foundation of their educational success.

Qualifications:

• Valid K-12 Virginia Special Education License (required)
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and IEP development
• Previous experience in a Special Education setting preferred, but enthusiastic recent graduates are encouraged to apply
• Commitment to collaboration and inclusive classroom practices
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and track progress on Individualized Education Programs for assigned students
• Provide direct instruction and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with general classroom teachers, support professionals, and parents to ensure student success
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development
