DON (Director of Nursing)

Location: Fredericksburg, VA
Shift: Days, Monday Friday, 9:00 AM 4:00 PM (5x8)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Assignment Duration: 9 weeks (potential for extension)
Compensation: $70/hr ($2,800/week)

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations at our Long-Term Care (LTC) facility in Fredericksburg, VA. The DON will be responsible for overseeing nursing services, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting staff development, and maintaining the highest quality of resident care.

• Provide overall leadership and direction to the nursing department.

• Supervise and support nursing staff, including hiring, training, performance management, and scheduling.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and standards of care.

• Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, residents, and families to ensure continuity of care.

• Oversee resident assessments, care planning, and appropriate documentation.

• Promote a positive and supportive work environment for staff and residents.

• Manage budgets and resources effectively within the nursing department.

• Active, unencumbered RN license in Virginia (or compact state).

• Minimum of 3 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, preferably in LTC or skilled nursing.

• In-depth knowledge of nursing regulations, compliance, and best practices in long-term care.

• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Ability to manage staff effectively and foster a culture of excellence in resident care.
