General Laborer

As a General Laborer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of our facility. Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance of work areas.
• Operate basic facility equipment such as balers, compactors, or conveyors under supervision, if trained.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and other machinery to assist with material movement, facility upkeep, and production support.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.
• Support skilled machine operators or supervisors as needed.
• Move materials and equipment to designated areas.
• Assist in routine inspections and minor repairs.
• Manually sort recyclable materials from conveyor belts and material piles (plastics, metals, paper, cardboard, etc.).
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Assist with the scale as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2 or more years of experience operating heavy equipment in a fast-paced high output industrial environment.
• Previous general labor or plant experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to physically operate heavy equipment.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and repair heavy equipment.
• Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
• Thorough understanding of practices involved in the use of various types of heavy equipment.
• Thorough understanding of maintenance and basic repairs associated with heavy equipment.
• Thorough understanding of safety rules and ability to safely operate machinery.
• Superior skill in operating assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
