PLC Technician
This is a 12 month contract opportunity with possibility of extension in Newport News, VA. Full-time hours, 1st first.
Field Technician 3 / Electrical Technician Responsibilities:- Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment.
- Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
- Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and
removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. - Maintains effective customer.
communications and relations. - May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
Desired /Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in programming with Wonderware, RS Logix, RSNetworks, RSView, Factory Talk and Siemens software is preferred.
- Heavy Industrial experience.
- Ability to read and produce electrical/controls schematics.
- Review and update AUTOCAD drawings.
- Design of PLC, HMI, and logic development.
- Troubleshooting industrial machinery.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
Education:
- Associate's degree or 2 year technical school in related.
- 3 years of experience.
