Buyer (Onsite)
Main Sail seeks a Buyer to support nuclear manufacturing operations at our client's facility. The Buyer will execute procurement activities in compliance with federal acquisition regulations, DOE requirements, and internal policies. This role requires strong analytical skills, documentation discipline, and the ability to operate in a highly controlled environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Process purchase requisitions in accordance with established procurement procedures.
- Collect, validate, and compile documentation required for government contracting compliance.
- Issue purchase orders and ensure alignment with technical, schedule, and funding requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure cost, quality, and delivery objectives are met.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through market research, competitive sourcing, and supplier negotiations.
- Track and report supplier performance metrics, including delivery, quality, and risk indicators.
- Analyze supplier risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, quality, and program teams to support production and project schedules.
- Maintain procurement files and records in accordance with audit and compliance standards.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting government procurement activities. Experience within a regulated manufacturing or federal contracting environment preferred.
- Active DOE L or Q clearance required. Equivalent active DoD clearance accepted.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems.
