Position Details
- Location: Charlottesville, VA
- Position Type: Full-time contract
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, school hours
- Caseload: Assigned based on experience and district needs
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that support student success.
- Provide specialized instruction to students with a range of learning, behavioral, and developmental needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic and social-emotional growth.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Special Education Teaching License (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Previous school-based experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
