Highly skilled Scientists with expertise in material science, polymer fabrication, and tissue engineering to drive innovation in medical devices and regenerative medicine are encouraged to apply. Additionally, candidates with a background in leading R&D efforts in developing biomaterials, bioengineered scaffolds, and implantable medical devices while ensuring biocompatibility, efficacy, scalability, and regulatory compliance would be well-suited for this role. A strong background in biofabrication techniques and translational tissue engineering would be highly valuable.

This person will be required to continuously sit, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs. They will continuously work in a sterile or isolation area. Additionally, this person will be required to pass a pre- employment health screening.

How you will contribute to LifeNet Health’s success:

The Lead Scientist participates in corporate level strategic and resource planning. Develops and manages research and productdevelopment projects and interface with internal business stakeholders. Implements strategies, developmethodology, and work collaboratively with cross functional teams to optimize study designs and studyprotocol. Provides scientific assistance for divisional laboratory efforts. Contributes in the development ofintellectual property in support of thedivisional project portfolio.

What you’ll do:

• Technology Development: Develops techniques and technologies needed to develop clinical or research products and investigates the feasibility of the potential inventions and products. Makes major contributions in assessing external technology for in-house application, potential licensing, or partner opportunities. Makes major contribution in the development of intellectual property in support of the divisional project portfolio.
• Strategy: Implements strategies, develop methodology, and work collaboratively with cross functional teams to optimize study designs and study protocol. Makes major contributions to corporate level strategic and resource planning as well as project prioritization.
• Leadership: Provides oversight to assigned team by supervising, guiding and directing employees to be effective team members. Ensures that everyone is equipped with the right skills, tools, and talents necessary for executing their duties. Using the established people processes (performance, development, succession, and career) to ensure that their team’s level of performance and capabilities meet current and future standards. Leads multifunctional teams to plan and execute projects according to goals, budgets, and timelines to achieve corporate objectives.
• Support: Provides scientific support for technical and non-technical staff, including guidance and project review.
• Reporting and Communicating: Represents the department in various departmental and interdepartmental committees that address scientific and administrative initiatives. Reviews, writes, submits, and presents resultsof research initiatives both internally and externally.

What you’ll bring (Minimum Requirements):

• PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Engineering, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Eight (8) years of related industry experience.
• Five (5) years of supervisory experience with responsibilities of direct reports’ performance.

Preferred Experience/Skills/Certifications:

• Ten (10) years of related industry experience.

• Communication Skills:Written, verbal, and presentation; ability to engage, inspire, and influence people.

Salary: $132,659- $176,879 annually

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location and the candidate’s qualifications and prior relevant experience. The pay range for this position is $132,659annually (entry-level qualifications) to $176,879annually (experienced in this role).

This position is eligible for an annual bonus once eligibility criteria are met.
