Part - Time Occasional Driver Stuart Hall School - Staunton, VA

Stuart Hall School is an independent Episcopal day and boarding school in Staunton, VA that serves students in grades 6-12. The School is currently seeking a dedicated individual to serve as a Part-Time / Occasional Driver. With a close-knit community, historic campus, and global boarding population, Stuart Hall relies on flexible, reliable support staff to ensure smooth daily operations and safe student transportation.

About the Position

This role is designed to provide backup and as-needed driving support, particularly for airport shuttles (including Dulles), local transportation, support of sports programs, transportation to medical appointments, and occasional coverage for the pre/post school Lexington shuttle.

This position is ideal for individuals seeking flexible, intermittent work who are comfortable driving school vehicles and working with students . Schedules will vary based on need and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or school breaks.

This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt, on-call position paying $19.67 per hour . Hours are not guaranteed and will vary throughout the year.

Primary Responsibilities

• Drive students and/or staff safely to and from designated locations.
• Operate school vehicles in accordance with school policies and all applicable safety and traffic laws.
• Communicate clearly with campus life staff regarding schedules, changes, or concerns.
• Complete any required trip documentation or checklists .
• Maintain a professional, calm, and student-centered demeanor at all times.
• Support campus operations as needed related to transportation logistics.

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. CDL is not required.
• Ability to pass background and motor vehicle record checks .
• Comfort driving longer distances and transporting students .
• Reliable, punctual, and responsive to scheduling requests.
• Ability to follow established procedures and communicate effectively with school staff.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States .
