Host - matchbox
Become an integral part of the Matchbox team as a Host/Hostess and be the welcoming face of our vibrant restaurant. As a Host , you will create a warm and inviting atmosphere, ensuring that every guest feels valued and has an exceptional dining experience from the moment they step through our doors. Responsibilities:- Greet and welcome guests with a friendly and positive attitude, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
- Manage the waitlist and seating arrangements efficiently, ensuring accurate and timely seating of guests.
- Provide accurate and helpful information to guests regarding menus, specials, and restaurant policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand and lobby area, making a great first impression on guests.
- Coordinate with the serving staff and kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient flow of guest seating and service.
- Experience in high volume, upscale causal dining or an equivalent service environment preferred.
- Able to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends, and some holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours).
- Lift and carry up to 20 lbs (e.g., menus, high chairs, booster seats).
- Reach, bend, and stoop occasionally.
- Use hands and arms to operate reservation systems and phones.
- Clear verbal communication skills and ability to interact with guests in a busy environment.
- Ability to remain calm and composed while multitasking in a fast-pace setting.
