Job Summary
Th e Shipping and Receiving Clerk oversees the receiving dock operations to ensure all incoming materials and supplies are received, inspected, verified, documented, and stored accurately and efficiently. This role is responsible for coordinating the movement and maintenance of supplies and raw materials while ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company procedures. The position supports efficient production flow, works collaboratively with warehouse and operations teams, and performs additional duties as assigned.
Job Description
- Follow all established work methods, safety policies, and procedures to maintain a safe work environment; immediately report unsafe conditions or behaviors.
- Review daily work schedules, conduct safety checks on equipment, obtain required supplies, and prepare for operations.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety gear at all times.
- Meet or exceed productivity and accuracy standards according to company and location guidelines.
- Open loading dock doors, position dock plates, and prepare receiving areas for inbound shipments.
- Inspect incoming trailers to ensure they meet quality and safety standards; take corrective action as needed.
- Receive incoming products and supplies, verifying quantities against bills of lading and receiving schedules.
- Ensure accuracy of counts, record receiving data in appropriate forms or inventory systems, and verify proper labeling.
- Perform damage control inspections and notify supervision to remove non-conforming items in accordance with company policy.
- Inspect date-sensitive items, perform temperature and quality checks, and take appropriate action when issues are identified.
- Label, identify, and store supplies according to specifications and enter purchase order data into inventory systems.
- Coordinate unloading and transport materials to designated staging or storage areas using forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Assist forklift operators with pallet breakdown, re-wrapping, stretch wrap replacement, and material placement as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, loading dock, and trailers through routine housekeeping.
- Manage equipment batteries by replacing and recharging as required and complete vehicle inspection checklists.
- Secure all equipment and complete required documentation at the end of each shift.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills Required
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate counting, labeling, and documentation of incoming materials.
- Knowledge of warehouse receiving procedures, including bills of lading, purchase orders, and inventory verification.
- Ability to follow safety regulations, GMP standards, and company policies consistently.
Education
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
Additional Requirements
- 1st Shift: starting at 6am
Pay Rate
- $19 per hour
