This _Software Engineer - Level 2_ role will sit at either our **Fairfax, VA or Linthicum, MD sites.** **This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work** **.** This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. **About our organization:** As an engineer, you'll be joining our growing Software and Digital Engineering department which has 200+ Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Systems Administrator, Database Administrator, and Network Engineer peers from entry-level to the most senior chief engineers and architects. Software Engineers frequently get into informal (example: Subject Matter Expert) and formal technical leadership roles within their programs, as applicable and per interest. We have plenty of opportunities for career advancement into higher level technical roles or leadership positions. Our Software Department is part of a larger organization that includes Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test staff as well as a Hardware Engineering unit. This larger organization influences cross-program collaboration, professional development and training, as well as engagement and inclusion activities such as lunch-n-learns, campus events, and leadership mixers. **Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:** We are seeking a talented Software Developer to join our team supporting mission-critical programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in JAVA development and hold an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain secure software solutions in a classified environment. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and optimize software performance. Maintain code quality and ensure code reviews are conducted regularly. Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes. Support application deployment and sustainment in physical and virtual landscapes. _This position is contingent upon clearance verification and transfer to the NG sponsored program as well as continued ability to maintain required clearance level._ **Basic Qualifications (must have/required to be considered):** + Requires an **active** Top-Secret (TS)/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance [ **TS/SCI** ] **at time of application** [ _US Citizenship required_ ] + Must be able and willing to favorably succeed a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph + **Level 2** : + Bachelor's degree with 2 years of software development experience + _An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed Bachelor's_ + Master's degree with 0 years of software development experience + Experience with JAVA + Experience working with microservices and containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes + Experience with API development, including REST architectural style + Experience with Linux OS and Command Line Interface **Preferred Qualifications (not required, but nice to have):** + STEM degree + Favorably adjudicated CI or FS polygraph + Experience with Open Systems Architecture design principles + Knowledge of non-relational databases, including MongoDB + Knowledge of Apache NiFi and Kafka **About Space Sector:** Offering satellite, payload, directed energy, and electronics for security and civil markets. Northrop Grumman Total Rewards ( Primary Level Salary Range: $85,400.00 - $134,200.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
