Occupational Therapist - Travel Contract

Make a meaningful difference as a travel Occupational Therapist in Petersburg, VA. Provide occupational therapy services to patients with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities in a hospital setting. Deliver assessments, individualized treatment plans, therapeutic interventions, documentation in the electronic medical record, patient and family education, and participate in interdisciplinary discharge planning and department performance improvement activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor‘s, Master‘s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE‑approved program or foreign equivalent.
• Active Virginia OT license (VA OT lic) required prior to start.
• NBCOT certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year recent acute care hospital experience and/or inpatient rehabilitation experience required. No new graduates unless candidate has 6 months of recent acute care experience during the first year (preferred wording retained from client).
• Current BLS certification required.
• Experience treating adult and geriatric populations, including ortho post‑op, ICU, cardiopulmonary, stroke, and med/surg patients preferred.
• Ability to participate in performance improvement, team meetings, documentation in EMR, and discharge planning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a Level III Trauma Center and Stroke Center preferred.
• Experience mentoring students and contributing to departmental education and productivity initiatives preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
• Schedule coverage includes Sunday through Saturday availability as needed; two weekend days per month required.
• Work environment: hospital acute care setting with exposure to ICU, trauma, stroke, ortho post‑op, cardiopulmonary, and med/surg patients.
• Manager may review profiles and conduct additional interviews.
