Job description:
Superior Iron Works Inc. is a growing AISC certified miscellaneous metals/ structural steel fabricator and erector in the DC, VA & MD areas. We are currently looking for Fitter / Fabricators to help with assembling components for production.
Primary duties include:
- Measuring, laying out, aligning, and fitting fabricated metal work according to blueprints.
- Positioning metal work with overhead crane or forklift.
- Preparing steel for welding using grinder, etc.
- Welding in accordance with the blueprints and specifications.
- Finishing metal work (clean slag, splatter, or excess weld)
- Cleaning and housekeeping activities.
Must have at least 3 years’ experience in Structural Steel Fitting / Fabrication
Must be able to read and comprehend instructions, and lift up to 50 lbs.
High school diploma or GED preferred (but not required).
Hours:
- Day shift hours are 7am – 3:30pm Monday – Friday
Compensation will be determined based on experience and skill level.
Must have own transportation.
