ER Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Danville, VA 24541 – Explore Virginia healthcare jobs in a city known for its historic architecture, art galleries, and over 680 acres of parks and trails. Conveniently located 45 miles north of Greensboro, NC.
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing (Travel RN contract)
• Start Date: August 19, 2025
• End Date: November 18, 2025
• Duration: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Hours: Rotating weekends/as needed
• Unit: Emergency Room (31 beds, 2 triage rooms, all ages served)

ER RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state
• Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Handle with Care (can be completed on-site), NIH Stroke Scale, and PALS or ENPC
• Strong clinical skills, professionalism, compassion, and ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team
• Must reside at least 60 miles from Danville, VA to qualify as a travel nurse
• Successful completion of all required screenings prior to start

ER Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals of all ages in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
• Manage a patient ratio of approximately 1:4, adapting to high-volume or acute care needs
• Float to other hospital units as needed to support clinical operations
• Utilize MedHost (ED) and Meditech (for admit holds and behavioral health patients) electronic health record systems
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Demonstrate adaptability, professionalism, and commitment to quality care in a diverse clinical environment
