About the Role:
The Material Mover plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe transportation of materials within a warehouse, manufacturing facility, or distribution center. This position is responsible for the timely movement of goods, which directly impacts production schedules and customer satisfaction. The role requires attention to detail to maintain accurate inventory records and to handle materials with care to prevent damage. Material Movers collaborate closely with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Ultimately, this position supports the overall supply chain by facilitating smooth material handling operations that contribute to the organization's success.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read labels, instructions, and record data accurately.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials (furniture, pictures, boxes, equipment etc..) as required.
- Understanding of workplace safety standards and willingness to follow safety procedures.
- Ability to obtain a favorable federal background investigation.
- Available to work Monday through Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift certification or equivalent training.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management software and inventory control systems.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move goods within the facility.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, shelves, and storage areas according to established procedures.
- Inspect materials for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to supervisors promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and inventory levels using warehouse management systems.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a secure working environment.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining the cleanliness of the storage and work areas.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production and shipping deadlines.
