Position Description
CGI is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Functional Consultant with expertise in federal financial management to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of federal financial management processes and solutions, particularly in the areas of Funds Management, including budget execution and funds control. The successful candidate will play a key role in working closely with clients to lead workshops, understand requirements, design and present solutions, assist with configuring an SAP S/4HANA financial system, and support full lifecycle implementations across several federal government business process areas.

This position is located in one of CGI Federal’s offices in Fairfax, VA; Lebanon, VA; Lafayette, LA; or Knoxville, TN; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. You will be required to work in a CGI Federal office two days per week.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Facilitate the gathering and validation of requirements; design, implement, and support SAP Financials; and understand the Public Sector module within SAP to enhance the client’s business functionality and overall performance while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate workshops to collect business requirements and translate them into system requirements, with the ability to identify gaps, issues, and work‑around solutions.
• Act as a liaison with the client for troubleshooting: investigate, analyze, and resolve software problems; map client business requirements, processes, and objectives; and develop necessary product modifications to meet client needs.
• Design, configure, and test FM, Public Sector Management (PSM), and Public Sector solutions for the Federal Government.
• Serve as a primary resource for the successful implementation of SAP S/4HANA, including providing functional expertise, guidance, presentations, and instruction on SAP products to clients.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in federal financial management—preferably within the government or public sector—including at least 5 years of experience with federal financial implementations.
• Expertise in federal financial management best practices, including demonstrations and test scripts.
• Expertise in configuration and implementation of Financial Accounting (FI) and Funds Management (FM).
• Knowledge of key integration points between SAP modules.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present and discuss strategies and technical information in a manner that builds rapport and ensures understanding for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, resolve problems, and recommend solutions.
• Strong organizational skills.

Desired qualifications :
• Experience using the SAP Activate methodology.
• Certification in Financials in SAP S/4HANA for SAP ERP Finance.
• Experience integrating with SAP application areas such as Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), Project Systems (PS), and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
