Job Details:

• Work in adult emergency room at Level 1 trauma center and teaching facility
• Provide emergency care for more than 80,000 patients annually
• Care for patients aged adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Handle 60-80 daily census with 1000 visits per day in 64-bed/64-room department
• Work every third weekend
• 36 hours of orientation required
• May float within scope if needed
• Fast-paced environment with rapid patient turnover
• Care for high-acuity patients requiring skilled assessment and critical thinking
• Handle trauma, burn, medicine, surgical, and psychiatric patients
• Perform conscious sedation procedures
• Manage ventric insertion and monitoring, vasopressors, arterial lines, and ventilators
• Required certifications: CPI, TNCC, ACLS, BLS
• Additional skills: stroke certification, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, burns, psychiatric holds, triage
• 3 years of experience required with travel experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• BSN preferred
• VA or compact state license must be in hand at time of submittal
• Natural nail policy in effect
• Fingerprinting required with 15-20 business day processing time
• Complete specialty-specific modules during orientation week

This major academic medical center serves as a Level I trauma center and teaching facility, providing advanced emergency care for cardiac, trauma, pediatric, obstetric and gynecologic emergencies. The facility handles complex cases including motor vehicle accidents, falls, burns, and assaults, offering comprehensive emergency services with specialized stroke center capabilities. The emergency department features state-of-the-art equipment and maintains interdisciplinary support services including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services to ensure comprehensive patient care.
