AI/ML Engineer

Position Summary
Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is a trusted partner of federal health agencies, seeking a Data Scientist and AI/ML Engineer to join our team and support mission-critical client initiatives. This role required deep expertise across data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML solution delivery, combined with hands-on leadership of technical teams. This incumbent will lead the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable data and analytics solutions, apply modern DataOps, MLOps, and DevOps practices to improve automation, reliability, and performance. This role serves as a technical advisor to clients, helping identify strategic opportunities and translate complex business needs into differentiated technology solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee technical teams to design, develop, and deliver data management, analytics, and AI/ML solutions
• Lead engagement with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other federal health clients to provide thought leadership around advanced data, analytics, and AI/ML solutions that meet key mission challenges
• Identify strategic opportunities to enhance technical delivery and collaborate with clients to design, develop, and deliver differentiated technology solutions
• Apply DataOps, MLOps, and DevOps tools and frameworks to deliver enhanced automation and reliability across data and analytics products
• Contribute and lead key growth initiatives across the capture and proposal response lifecycle
• Lead design and development for internal investments, including organizational initiatives to deliver enhanced efficiencies and prototyping/demo efforts centered around areas of key client demand.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Six (6) + years of experience working across data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML development efforts
• Three (3) + years of experience leading technical teams to deliver advanced data and analytics solutions
• Three (3) + years of experience utilizing languages such as SQL, R, Python, and PySpark
• Experience working with DataOps, MLOps, and DevOps/DevSecOps tools and frameworks, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), model deployment, and monitoring,g and automated data pipeline development
• Experience with GitHub, GitLab, and GitHub Actions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship
• Ability to obtain a public trust

Preferred Qualification

• Experience working with VA and federal health clients to deliver data and analytics products
• Knowledge and experience applying AI/ML, data governance, and data quality management tools, frameworks, and best practices
• Knowledge and experience contributing to capture and proposal efforts across the business development lifecycle
• Amazon or Azure cloud certifications
