Devops engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a DevOps Engineer based in Richmond, Virginia, with 2+ years of hands on experience supporting DevOps, infrastructure, or cloud based environments. This role focuses on supporting secure and scalable cloud and hybrid infrastructure, preferably in Microsoft Azure, while working within established standards and procedures. The DevOps Engineer will collaborate closely with development and engineering teams to support application deployments, system reliability, and operational stability. Responsibilities include contributing to Infrastructure as Code and configuration management efforts, supporting CI/CD pipelines, monitoring system health, and troubleshooting routine infrastructure and application issues using documented best practices. This position is ideal for an engineer with strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills who is comfortable working in production environments and participating in on call rotations. The pay for this role ranges from $42/hour-$43.00/hour, based on experience.

Skills and Requirements

-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

-2+ years of hands on experience supporting DevOps, infrastructure, or cloud based environments

-Experience supporting secure and scalable cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments, preferably Microsoft Azure, while working within established standards and procedures

-Experience collaborating with development and engineering teams to support application deployments, system reliability, and operational stability

-Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet

-Experience supporting CI/CD tools and workflows, including Azure DevOps, Git, and YAML based pipelines

-Working knowledge of scripting or automation languages (PowerShell, Bash, C#, .NET, T SQL, or similar)

-Exposure to container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, with basic orchestration knowledge

-Experience monitoring system health and availability using tools such as Azure Monitor, Splunk, or AppDynamics, and responding to alerts through established escalation processes

-Ability to troubleshoot routine infrastructure and application issues using documented procedures and best practices

-Foundational understanding of networking, operating systems, and virtualization concepts

-Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills

-Willingness to participate in on call rotations for production systems -Microsoft Azure certifications
