Collector
Description
They work with 30+ payers but most are Medicaid, Carefirst BCBS, Cigna and Aetna. They may need to submit Medical Records, correct claims as well as obtain retro authorizations. It is essentially following up on the claim to find out the next step. They have billers who actually do the submissions, they just need this person to find out what needs to be done.
Job Duties:
- Make outbound calls
- Take incoming calls
- Resolve outstanding account balances via the necessary avenues (internal system)
- Properly follow up on all correspondence received
- Maintain a work file of accounts
- Provide customer service to all debtors, with the intent to resolve the past due amount
- Skip trace for better location information on debtors
- Contact and follow up with insurance when necessary for account resolution
- Meet and/or exceed monthly production standards and fee goals

REQUIRED SKILLS
- Excellent customer service skills
- Perform to company standards of compliance with policies and procedures
- Compliance with HIPAA, FCRA, FDCPA and other applicable laws and regulations
- Ability to handle multiple computer systems at once
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Cerner Experience or worked at Children's National previously

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $41600.00/yr.
