- Facility: Behavioral Health Unit
- Start Date: August 25, 2025
- End Date: November 24, 2025
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Population: Adult behavioral health
- Unit Size: 12 beds
- Patient Ratio: 1:8
- Weekend/Call: Every other weekend/as needed
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1750-$1800
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Virginia
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
- CPI or Handle With Care certification required prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in behavioral health nursing or medical RN roles
- Successful completion of Virginia Central Registry, fingerprinting, and criminal history checks
- Strong communication, clinical assessment, and de-escalation skills
- Ability to delegate tasks and collaborate with clinical support staff
- Professional, non-judgmental approach to patient care
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with behavioral health diagnoses (bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, personality disorders)
- Conduct patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and monitor patient progress
- Utilize de-escalation and restraint techniques in accordance with facility protocols
- Delegate tasks to support staff and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Float to other units as needed and respond promptly to emergency situations
- Document patient care using Paragon EHR and operate unit equipment (telehealth, medication dispensing machine, Dinamap)
- Maintain compliance with all facility, state, and healthcare regulations
