Active Registered Respiratory Tech (RRT) license and 2+ years of in-patient hospital Respiratory Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A specialized opportunity is available for a Registered Respiratory Therapist with advanced neonatal intensive care skills to provide exceptional respiratory support in a 140-bed healthcare setting located in King George, VA. This role demands a minimum of three years of NICU experience and involvement with advanced respiratory procedures including CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Bubble CPAP, and intubation assistance, complemented by proficiency in mechanical ventilation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver respiratory care to neonatal and adult patients using state-of-the-art equipment such as Hamilton C1, V60, and Hamilton MR1 ventilators.
- Assist in NICU-specific procedures, ensuring patient safety and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation using the Meditech system.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Work a flexible schedule comprising three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend, to meet unit staffing needs.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
- Minimum of two years experience as a respiratory therapist, with at least three years in a NICU setting.
- Current BLS certification mandatory; ACLS and NRP certifications preferred but may be obtained after hire.
- Proficiency in CPAP modalities, mechanical ventilation, and NICU-specific respiratory care.
- Ability to wear all-black scrubs as the required uniform standard.
