Business Development Consultant
The Business Development Consultant is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities for the moving company. This role focuses on building relationships with residential, commercial, and corporate clients, strategic partners, real estate professionals, property managers, and relocation services. The ideal candidate has strong sales experience, understands consultative selling, and thrives in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
This is a Hybrid Role. Candidate must live in or around the Sterling, VA area.
Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within residential, commercial, and corporate moving markets
Build and maintain relationships with referral partners (realtors, apartment communities, property managers, relocation companies, storage facilities, etc.)
Generate and manage a sales pipeline from lead prospecting through contract close
Conduct in-person and virtual sales meetings, presentations, and site visits
Develop customized moving solutions based on client needs and budgets
Collaborate with operations and dispatch teams to ensure smooth execution of sold jobs
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements
Track sales activity, forecasts, and performance metrics using CRM software
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets
Represent the company at networking events, trade shows, and community events
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback
Qualifications
3+ years of sales or business development experience (service-based or logistics industry preferred)
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
Experience with B2B sales, account management, or partnership development
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Comfortable with cold outreach, networking, and in-person selling
Highly organized and self-motivated with strong time-management skills
Proficient with CRM systems, email, and MS Office/Google Workspace
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
