Forklift Operator

The Forklift Operator plays a vital role in maintaining a smooth and organized warehouse operation. Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift, the operator will move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise, contributing significantly to the success of the warehouse.

• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to move and handle merchandise.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to the production floor within a two-hour lead time.
• Engage in walking, cleaning, and handling materials by hand for approximately six hours of the shift.
• Utilize warehouse management systems and support distribution processes.
• Balance multiple processes to maintain overall system efficiency.
• Perform quality checks and adhere to safety standards.
• Handle repetitive tasks and lift up to 40 lbs unassisted.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in storage processes and production support.
• Minimum 3 years of forklift experience, ideally with stand-up electric forklifts.
• Experience in packaging, inventory control, and material handling.
• Proficiency with RF scan guns and warehouse inventory systems.
• Order selection and processing experience.

• Forklift certifications verified through references.
• Experience in quality control and safety standards.
• Computer skills and ability to understand production metrics.
• Experience with order entry, picking, and packing.

The warehouse is a clean, state-of-the-art facility in Colonial Heights, featuring packaging operations, a warehouse, and a training center. Aisles are narrow, requiring careful equipment operation. The facility is climate-controlled with locker rooms and a breakroom equipped with food and drink machines. Employees must adhere to attendance policies, as going permanent is contingent upon performance and attendance.

This is a Contract position based out of Colonial Heights, VA.

The pay range for this position is $21.74 - $21.74/hr.
