Shifts will be three 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Charting experience in Epic is essential. There may be weekend requirements, including every other weekend or six shifts within a block of six weeks. All scheduling requests must be submitted upfront. The facility has a policy of allowing one shift cancellation every two weeks. Nurses must work one holiday during the 13-week contract period. First-time travelers are welcome. Local candidates may apply, following a radius rule. Candidates must have experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response, Including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Management of cardiac drips without titration is also required. Skills in IV therapy, blood product administration, and line care and management are necessary. Respiratory support via nasal cannula and oxygen administration is part of the role. Maintaining isolation precautions and using rapid response teams are expected. The unit serves adult and geriatric patients with a ratio of 1:5. It cares for hospitalist medicine patients with various medical diagnoses. Nurses may be required to float to other areas within their skill set. Interdisciplinary support is available through various medical teams. Candidates should expect a daily census of around 20 patients in a unit that accommodates 25 beds.
