Step into a rewarding contract position serving elementary students in the Chatham, VA area as a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist. This full-time opportunity centers on providing vital speech and language services in a supportive school environment, with the potential for minimal travel between sites.
Ideal candidates will bring a passion for making a measurable impact in the lives of young learners, collaborating closely with teachers, staff, and families to foster student success.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Holds a current Speech-Language Pathologist license
- Prior experience in a school setting preferred
- Strong understanding of pediatric speech and language disorders
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload of elementary-aged students
- Flexibility for minimal local travel as needed between school sites
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify speech and language needs
- Develop and implement IEP goals and individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct and consultative services for students
- Document progress and participate in IEP meetings
- Work in partnership with teachers, staff, and parents to support language development and learning
- Maintain up-to-date records in accordance with school and regulatory requirements
