Location: Fairfax, VA (On-site)
Assignment type: Temp-to-permanent
Compensation: $21 - $26/hour
Work Schedule: M-F 9-5

Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis. This position will support a variety of accounting, invoicing, vendor communication, and administrative functions in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling both accounting support work and day-to-day coordination with vendors and internal teams. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a growing company where they can contribute across multiple functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Entering, tracking, and maintaining invoices in the accounting system
- Communicating with vendors regarding invoices, payments, and account details by phone, email, and in person
- Assisting with vendor relations and providing day-to-day customer service support
- Reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Maintaining organized and accurate files for accounting and operational records
- Assisting with invoicing requests and payment follow-up
- Performing inventory checks and related recordkeeping as needed
- Reviewing contractual and supporting documentation tied to billing and vendor activity
- Utilizing accounting software and Microsoft Office tools to support daily operations
- Following company policies and procedures and assisting with other administrative and accounting-related duties as assigned
Qualified candidates will have:
- 1+ year of accounting or accounting support experience
- Strong QuickBooks Online experience required
- Experience with invoice entry, tracking, and reconciliation
- Exposure to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with vendors and internal teams regularly
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- Experience reviewing financial or contractual documentation is a plus
