Imagine stepping onto the floor at our Jamison Lane site in Fredericksburg. You scan the work order, choose the right setup, and bring the line online. Temperatures stabilize, melt flows, and your gauges confirm you’re in the sweet spot. A blip appears—you isolate the cause, coordinate a quick fix with maintenance, and capture notes so the team can learn and improve. That’s the rhythm here: safety first, quality always, productivity as the outcome.

What success looks like

1. Process mastery: Set up extrusion equipment per drawings, plans, and work instructions; determine tooling, materials, and operating sequences.
2. Operational excellence: Monitor and adjust parameters to hit spec consistently while minimizing downtime and waste.
3. Team collaboration: Follow the production schedule; communicate clearly during interruptions; partner with maintenance for timely repairs; work with engineers and managers to develop and enhance SOCs and SOPs.
4. Quality focus: Perform control checks, guide corrective actions, and document results thoroughly.
5. Continuous improvement: Proactively identify efficiency gains and risk reductions—including helping to identify and eliminate security risks.
6. Accountability: Accurately record production, quality, maintenance, and downtime details; take on additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or relevant training preferred.
• At least 3 years of extrusion operating experience with proven proficiency; experience on Davis Standard machinery is beneficial.
• Technical understanding of extrusion equipment, configurations, and process parameters.
• Basic computer literacy for data entry, monitoring, and communication.

Role details

• Department: Extrusion
• Reports to: Supervisor
• Shift Schedule: Second Shift 6pm-6:30am Mon–Weds, 6pm–10:30pm Thurs
• Location: Fredericksburg plant on Jamison Lane

Physical Requirements: This position may require frequent bending, lifting, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees should be able to perform this duty with or without reasonable accommodations.
