I&C Project EngineerLocation: North Anna Power Station (On-site only)
Pay: $150K-$170K - hourly equivalent - benefits included
Per Diem: $100/day ($700/week) – Must live 50+ miles from site to qualify
Duration: 12 month contract - option to extend/convert
Candidates must currently hold or have previously held Design Qualification per Procedure IP-ENG-001 to be considered. This is a prerequisite for performing safety-related design work at the North Anna site.
About the RoleWe're seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Project Engineer to support ongoing engineering design modifications at the North Anna Power Station. This role is fully on-site and involves interfacing with a wide range of internal stakeholders, engineering contractors, and suppliers. You will play a key role in reviewing, preparing, and overseeing critical design packages and technical documentation in a nuclear power plant environment.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review engineering deliverables including design packages, technical evaluations, calculations, and specifications
Ensure engineering work aligns with Dominion Energy standards and nuclear industry regulations
Support and oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and simulation activities
Collaborate with project stakeholders and equipment suppliers to provide technical guidance and review
Evaluate design risks and incorporate mitigation strategies
Present project and engineering updates to technical and leadership teams
Support construction and implementation phases, including change evaluations and issue resolution
4-year degree in Electrical, Computer, or I&C Engineering — or extensive related field experience
Must hold Design Qualification (IP-ENG-001) — must be clearly noted on CV
Minimum 6 years of electrical power design experience (preferably in a power generating or nuclear station)
Strong technical writing and engineering specification development skills
Demonstrated experience with nuclear plant design, systems, and components
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Digitally trained to EPRI Digital Design Guide
10+ years of industry experience
Experience with:
Industrial Control Systems (DCS/PLC)
Power plant control theory (turbine, combustion, BOP systems)
Nuclear operations (SRO/STA background)
10 CFR 50.59 evaluations
PE license (current or previously held) may be considered in lieu of degree
