• Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Medicine Unit 4
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Start Date: August 10, 2025
• End Date: October 12, 2025
• Assignment Duration: 9 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1850-$1900

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license – Virginia or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Step Down, or similar acute care nursing job
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Strong clinical assessment, patient monitoring, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adults requiring intermediate-level monitoring and clinical support
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions as prescribed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and post-discharge instructions
• Accurately document patient care and assessments in the electronic medical record (EMR)
